Why Don’t Advice Only Financial Planners Accept Referral Fees Or Commissions?

Why would someone operate a business by not accepting product commissions or asset fees?  Here's the thing, a business is run by someone’s philosophy. As an advice only, fee-only financial planner our only goal is to see you succeed and give you our unbiased, professional opinion. Not tied to product sales.

That is the reality of working with us. The clients goals are the same as ours.

We do not accept commissions, referral fees or assets under management fees. This helps to align our interests with the clients - should you pay down your mortgage or invest more money, do you need more life insurance, is permanent life insurance a good idea? These are the types of issues we regularly deal with.

This model gives DIY investors the opportunity to receive expert, professional advice while being 100% in control of your money. We are separating the advice from the investment management fee, which are often one and the same in the industry.

An advice-only financial planner breaks the traditional industry mold. We sell no financial products, accept no trailing commissions, and take zero referral fees. If you are ready to experience what completely un-compromised financial planning feels like, let's connect. Head over to merrickfinancial.ca to book your complimentary initial consultation, and let's start building a plan that works strictly for you.
